Master artist Kathleen Conover to offer painting workshop Oct. 14-17

Space limited; early registration encouraged
August 31, 2019

Delaware Watercolor Society will offer a four-day painting workshop titled Chaos to Order, presented by nationally and internationally recognized watercolor celebrity and master artist Kathleen Conover from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Thursday, Oct. 14 to 17, at the Glade Clubhouse, 16 Glade Farm Drive, Rehoboth Beach.

Conover exhibits her work, acts as juror and judge for exhibitions, gives demonstrations, and teaches in-depth workshops throughout the United States and abroad. Her artwork has been juried into more than 200 exhibitions, receiving recognition for the vision, innovative techniques and fearless expression that give rise to her unique designs. Painting with openness to her subject matter, she is guided by intense observation and deep personal reflection. The result is rich symbolic layers of literal and figurative design.

Conover’s artistic skills have been recognized by the American Watercolor Society, signature member and Dolphin Fellow; National Watercolor Society, signature member; International Society of Experimental Artists, signature member; Watercolor USA, Honor Society member; and Transparent Watercolor Society, master artist.

Conover presents her process of starting a painting with color, texture, gestural marks and layers which may seem like chaos, but deliver vital energy that is both fun and intuitive. Great design and composition are the elements that bring order to the rich start each painting receives, and they result in paintings that are attention-getting and have expressive finish.

Strong design and compositional skills are the focus of her teachings. Beginner or advanced, participants are encouraged to discover and explore their unique expression and personal imagery in realism, abstraction or the non-objective realm.
