Max Weinberg to headline Big Chill Summer Concert Finale Aug. 24
Max Weinberg, the legendary E Street Band drummer, is a lot of things. Most know him as Bruce Springsteen's legendary drummer for over four decades. He's also an author, an actor and the famous band leader of Max Weinberg and the Tonite Show Band. This month the music icon adds the Cape Region to his long road trip around the globe to perform the finale for Big Chill Beach Club's summer concert series Friday, Aug. 24. at 8 p.m.
In 2014 Weinberg was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Springsteen's E Street Band. And he hasn't slowed down, especially now with his own new touring concept, "Max Weinberg's Jukebox" - offering classic rock entertainment designed for smaller, intimate venues. "Look, I'll be 66 next month, and it's nice to say I'm still figuring out ways to play this great canon of material in a different fashion," said Weinberg in Rolling Stone magazine. For Big Chill Beach Club, his "Jukebox" fits the bill.
"Our Big Chill Beach Club venue couldn't be more perfect!" says Jason Bradley, general manager for Delaware's premiere one-of-a-kind venue. Sweeping 360-degree water views of the Atlantic Ocean, the Indian River Inlet, and the Indian River Bay are highlights of the entertainment and hospitality compound. Guests also enjoy unobstructed views of the landmark 2,600-foot-long Indian River Inlet bridge bathed in cobalt blue night lighting. With its overhead clearance of 45 feet, visitors experience a nearly eye level perspective of the towering structure.

Weinberg invites the audience to create, in real time, the set list he and his crack four-piece group will play. Performing songs from the glory days of rock and roll, guests get to choose from a video menu of over 200 songs - everything from the Beatles to the Stones to Bruce and The E Street Band's biggest hits - and hear the group play 'em the way they want to hear them played!
