Mental Health Alternatives Inc. invites preteens, teens and young adults to its positive self-talk and kindness workshop from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 1, at HealTree, 1632 Savannah Road, Lewes.
MHA co-founders Elizabeth Sanchez, Amy Casas and Diane Winiarczyk will lead participants through discussions to help them understand how the power of positive thinking, positive self-talk and being kind to oneself can improve happiness levels and overall attitude. Participants will have the opportunity to create their own happiness jar and will be introduced to reflex points on the body to help them feel calmer and more centered. Light refreshments will be provided. The event is $10 per person and space is limited.
In early January, MHA hosted its vision board workshop event for local teens. Participants were led through a guided meditation and conversations reflecting on the past year, honoring their feelings and manifesting their desires. Everyone enjoyed connecting, sharing and laughing while creating their vision boards.
MHA is a local nonprofit supporting teens by sharing experiences and tools to help them manage everyday stress, anxiety and upset.
MHA encourages local teens to attend monthly events and apply for scholarships for a direct experience with local health and wellness practitioners. To register or learn more about the scholarship program, go to mentalhealthalternatives.org/events.
