Meterless Monday Arts Garden held weekly in Rehoboth

Show alternates between Rehoboth Ale House and Egg
August 23, 2020

Rehoboth Ale House and Egg are collaborating to host a weekly open-air art show called Meterless Monday Arts Garden.

The art show is held in the parking lots next to one of the restaurants each week on an alternating basis. The Aug. 24 show will be at Egg.

They worked with Leah Beach of Developing Artist Collaboration to set it up. This event is organized, planned and funded by our Developing Artist Collaboration. The idea was born after city officials approved free parking from 4 to 10 p.m. every Monday through at least Aug. 31, to help local businesses struggling with lost revenues due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“It will be like a farmers market,” said Adam Newman, owner of Rehoboth Ale House. “People can walk through and see all these art projects. We’ll also have live music, and with the ability to do takeout food and booze right now, we’ll be able to do that too.”

Social distancing and masks are required in the market.

As of now, Newman said, the arts garden will be held through Aug. 31, but it’s possible it will continue into September.

Rehoboth Ale House is located at 15 Wilmington Ave., while Egg is at 510 Rehoboth Ave.
