Milford Housing Development Corp. celebrated 35 years of providing decent, safe and affordable housing solutions with a Community Fall Festival held Sept. 22. Honored guests included Milford Mayor Joseph “Ronnie” Rogers; Rep. Harvey Kenton, R-Milford; and Delaware State Housing Authority Director of Housing Development Susan Eliason.
Highlights of the festival included equipment rides, crafts, games, face painting, hayrides, pumpkin decorating, and food from Little Richards and Vitale’s.
To honor the milestone, Eliason presented David Moore, MHDC president and CEO, with a 35th Tribute Award on behalf of Gov. Jack Markell and Lt. Gov. Matthew Denn. Kenton presented David Moore with a 35th Tribute Award on behalf of the Delaware House of Representatives.
“On this special celebration we join in acknowledging this nonprofit organization for the wonderful service to the citizens to the state of Delaware. Throughout the years, this organization has grown from an 11-unit apartment complex to over 165 rental units” said Kenton. “They also initiated the first USDA Rural Development Self-Help Program in our state. Best wishes for their continued success."
