Milford man crashes stolen motorcycle near Milton
A Milford man faces charges after police say he crashed a stolen motorcycle Sept. 22 near Milton.
Troopers responded at 3:17 p.m. to Isaacs Road north of Route 16 for a single-vehicle motorcycle crash. They learned Shymier Olden, 20, was riding a Suzuki GSX-600L northbound on Issacs Road when he failed to negotiate a curve and exited the east side of the roadway. Police said Olden was driving aggressively, passing on the shoulder and traveling at a high rate of speed before he crashed.
A computer check revealed that the Suzuki was unregistered, uninsured and reported stolen in 2023, police said.
Olden was taken to an area hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. After being released from the hospital, he was arrested and taken to Troop 7, where he was charged with felony receiving stolen property value over $1,500, aggressive driving, driving a vehicle at unreasonable or imprudent speed, overtaking/passing on the right, failure to have required insurance and other traffic violations. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and released on his own recognizance.
