Millsboro man faces charges following drug bust
A Millsboro man faces drug and weapon charges Aug. 29 following a search of a Millsboro area home.
Members of the Sussex County Drug Unit, Sussex County Governor’s Task Force, and the Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team executed a search warrant at a residence in the 27000 block of Mount Joy Road in Millsboro following an investigation into the distribution of illegal narcotics from the home, police said.
During the search warrant, police said they found about 44.81 grams of crack cocaine, about .28 grams of cocaine, digital scales, and 9mm ammunition. Djuan Sheppard, 38, and three other adults were in the home at the time, police said.
Sheppard, who is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing a firearm and/or ammunition, was taken to Troop 4 where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance tier 3 quantity, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a tier 3 quantity, possession of ammunition by a person prohibited, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arraigned by Justice of Peace Court 2, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $45,100 secured bond.
