Milton bulletin board to move to town hall

Existing informational tool is in bad shape in front of police station

The Milton Historic Preservation Commission unanimously approved a plan by the town to relocate and install the public notice bulletin board from the front of the Milton Police Department station to the front of town hall.

Among the reasons for the change is because the current board is in bad shape and needs to be replaced, said Project Coordinator Tom Quass. Another reason is because the town is eventually planning to move the police department to the town’s newly acquired land on Magnolia Street.

The bulletin board is used for noticing town meetings and important dates, like municipal elections. Quass said the same information is posted on the town’s website, but the town maintains the bulletin board for people who may not spend a lot of time online. He said he believes more people will see the board at town hall, since citizens regularly go there to pay bills. The new bulletin board will be made of metal and will be on legs in front of the staircase going to town hall.
