Editor’s note: The story has been edited to reflect the chamber’s decision to hold the the Annual Horseshoe Crab & Shorebird Festival, Saturday, May 27, over Memorial Day Weekend.

The Milton Chamber of Commerce recently announced all of Milton’s unique, cornerstone events will be back in 2023.

The Annual Horseshoe Crab & Shorebird Festival is set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, May 27, in downtown Milton, next to the Lydia B. Cannon Museum. The whole family can enjoy the free event and learn about the wildlife inhabitants of Southern Delaware. Attractions include educational exhibits, crafts, vendors, food and more.

The Annual Bring Mayberry Back to Milton festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 4, with activities all about the kids held in Milton Memorial Park. Games, crafts, water balloon fights, sack races, a dunk tank and a bike-decorating contest are just a few highlights of the fun that precedes local fireworks displays that evening.

The Annual Bargains on the Broadkill and Great Duck Race will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 26. A great Milton tradition, this quirky event has something for everyone in the family. Shopping, entertainment, a kayak and canoe race courtesy of Irish Eyes Pub & Restaurant, and finally the great rubber ducky race down the Broadkill River. Spectators can buy duck numbers for a chance to win one of several cash prizes.

Looking ahead to the fall and winter, the annual Wicked Weekend will be back Saturday, Oct. 28, with details to follow. The chamber’s most popular event, the Milton Holly Festival returns Saturday, Dec. 9, with a fun day full of shopping, visits with Santa, free face painting and more.
