Milton chamber sets inaugural St. Patrick’s Day decorating contest

Registration due March 8 for in-town homes and businesses
February 28, 2024

Milton residents, businesses and local organizations are known to roll out the green carpet during the 16th Annual Irish Eyes Milton St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Lucky Leprechaun 5K. Both events benefit nonprofit organizations in the community, and many natives and visitors enjoy the beautiful town during the fun and festivities while boosting the economy. This year, the Milton Chamber of Commerce announced its inaugural St. Patrick’s Day Home and Business Decorating Contest.

"Decorating contests can bring our community together, fostering a sense of camaraderie and celebration. It adds a festive spirit, encourages creativity, and provides an opportunity for residents and businesses to showcase their enthusiasm for the holiday. For that reason, the Milton Chamber of Commerce will continue decorating contests throughout the year during our chamber festivals and events, and the ones we directly partner with,” said Karen Falk, executive director.

With a theme of St. Patrick’s Day, the contest is open to Town of Milton residents, businesses and organizations in town limits; participants do not have to be chamber members to participate. Contestants must emphasize safety considerations to ensure that decorations do not pose any hazards to participants or passersby. To register, take photos of the decorated home or business and email with name and location information by Friday, March 8, to chamber@historicmilton.com. Decorations must be up and ready by March 8, and must stay up through Saturday, March 23, ensuring a synchronized, vibrant atmosphere in the town.

Milton Chamber of Commerce members will serve as judges to evaluate creativity, adherence to the theme and overall visual impact. Community members also can take a photo of their favorite homes or businesses and email to chamber@historicmilton.com.

The home category prize winner will receive a free dinner for four at Irish Eyes Milton. The winning business will earn bragging rights and receive a nice award to showcase.
