The Milton Garden Club was out selling plants and garden accessories May 24, as part of the Spring Into Milton fundraiser.
The loosely organized event was meant to fill the void left by the cancellation of the Horseshoe Crab and Shorebird Festival, which usually takes place Memorial Day weekend. Not wanting to miss out on what is typically its biggest fundraiser, the garden club decided to do its own event.
Concurrent with the garden club’s sale, the Milton Fire Department threw a barbecue fundraiser of its own, serving chicken and pulled pork. Also on hand during the day were representatives from Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge, while Milton Theatre hosted children’s activities at its Quayside Stage.
