Milton holds 9/11 remembrance

September 12, 2022

Despite the threat of rain, Milton Memorial Park was the scene of a ceremony remembering those who died in the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

Hosted by Milton Fire Department Chief Johnny Hopkins, the event was scaled down from years past but was no less solemn, as those in attendance remembered the civilians and first responders who lost their lives that day. At precisely 8:46 a.m., the fire department’s emergency siren went off, which was the exact time the first plane hit the North Tower of the World Trade Center.

The event concluded with the raising of the American flag to half mast in tribute to those who died.
