The weather outside - chilly with a splash of rain - was a bit frightful, but the Christmas cheer on display in downtown Milton was indeed delightful.
The town hosted its annual Christmas parade Dec. 4, and people lined the streets along the parade route, which ran from the intersection of Atlantic and Union streets to Federal and Magnolia streets. To help the crowd brave the chilly weather, free hot chocolate was provided by Milton Lions Club.
The parade stepped off just after 7 p.m. with the Cape Henlopen High School ROTC, and ended with the main attraction of the evening, all the way from the North Pole, Santa Claus himself, who was escorted through the streets by Milton Fire Department.
