Walkers, joggers and bikers along Milton’s Rails to Trails will be able to quench their thirst now that the town has installed water stations.
Public Works Director Greg Wingo told the parks committee Nov. 29 that the stations are operational for now; although, they will be shut off as the weather turns colder to prevent the pipes from freezing. The water stations are located on both sides of the foot bridge at the center of the trail.
Milton’s Rails to Trails runs in two sections, from Chestnut Street to Federal Street and then from Federal Street to Lavinia Street. The Federal to Lavinia section is the longest of the two and formally opened to the public in the summer of 2020. Since it opened, the town has slowly been adding amenities, such as lights and now, the water stations.
