Milton Lions observe Veterans Day
The Milton Lions Club celebrated those who served in America’s armed forces with a Veterans Day ceremony at the Milton cemetery across from Grace Church Nov. 11.
The event featured guest speakers, music from the Delaware State Police pipe and drums, and the reading of the names of honored veterans who contributed to flags that lined the cemetery grounds.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Mark McDaniel played Tap surrounded by the flags.
Ryan Mavity covers Milton and the court system. He is married to Rachel Swick Mavity and has two kids, Alex and Jane. Ryan started with the Cape Gazette all the way back in February 2007, previously covering the City of Rehoboth Beach. A native of Easton, Md. and graduate of Towson University, Ryan enjoys watching the Baltimore Ravens, Washington Capitals and Baltimore Orioles in his spare time.
