November 28, 2025

A Milton man faces charges Nov. 26 in connection with a robbery at a Milton Valero.

Police had been searching for a man who robbed the store on Route 1 and Deep Branch Road days earlier, and they found him Nov. 26 at a Milton-area home, police said. Police arrested Donald Tinley Jr., 29, and took him to Troop 4 where he was charged with second-degree robbery, wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony and theft of a motor vehicle. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of a $10,500 cash bond.

About 11 a.m., Nov. 24, police said, Tinley went to the store, going behind the counter and demanding the clerk remove money from the registers before taking the clerk’s car keys and driving away with cash. No one was injured during the incident, police said, and the stolen vehicle was found unoccupied a short time later in the area of New Hope Road in Ellendale.
