Nancy Lee Thomas, devout Christian

Nancy Lee Thomas, 80, of Millsboro, formerly of Pottstown, Pa., went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020, while surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of her home.

Nancy was born in Reading, Pa., Feb. 14, 1939, daughter of the late Leroy S. DeLong Sr. and the late Gertrude (Moyer) Haines.  She was a mother to four children and continued her love of raising children as a private nanny to several families over the years.  

Nancy loved to cook and read, especially her Bible.  She was a devout Christian who loved spending time in prayer and studying God’s word.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert John Thomas in 1972; a son, Douglas J. Rightnour Jr.; a brother, Leroy S. DeLong Jr.; and a sister, Bonnie Bush.  Nancy is survived by three children, Melinda L. Tuozzo and her husband Rick of Pasadena, Md., Deborah L. Lord of Laurel and Rodney S. Thomas of Clermont, Fla.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Judy Morris and her husband Pat of Blandon, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Delores DeLong of Boyertown, Pa.; and a stepsister, Ruth Bossler of Leesport, PAa.

A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 30, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, where friends and family may visit at 4:30 p.m.  A funeral service will also be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Jan. 31, at the Ebenezer Bible Chapel, 289 Warwick Furnace Road, Elverson, Pa., where friends and family may call after noon.  Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Nancy’s name to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963, or Ebenezer Bible Chapel at the above address.
