Nancy Morse Davis, devoted volunteer
Nancy Morse Davis, 92, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Born Christmas Day 1933, Nancy Noel Morse was first loved by her parents, Geraldine and Jay Jennings Morse.
Nancy was raised on a farm in Franklin, Mich., and attended Birmingham High School, Denison University and graduated from Towson University with a degree in finance. Her love of travel began one summer when she cycled through Europe, staying in youth hostels and meeting her first husband.
Nancy’s career began at Harford Community College. She also worked for two accounting firms and retired from Johns Hopkins Hospital.
In 1978, Nancy married John J. Davis, and they were happy to discover Lewes. Nancy had many hobbies and interests, including antiques, reading, entertaining, and restoring an old house in Lewes and attending Osher Lifelong Learning Institute classes. On Sundays, Nancy could be found wearing purple and cheering for the Baltimore Ravens. She was an active member and volunteer at Lewes Presbyterian Church, working on the finance committee, at the soup kitchen and after-school program. But Nancy was most proud of her children: Kim, Mike, Pete and Lindsey.
Nancy was preceded in death by both husbands; her brother, James R. Morse; and sister, Phyllis Morse Milligan. She leaves behind her four children, Kimberly Beth Adams (Stuart Cohen), Michael Morse Adams (Melanie), Peter Andrew Adams (Karen) and Lindsey Anne Cape; six grandchildren, Laura, Wilson, Caroline, Charlotte, Catherine and Jackson; and one great-grandchild, Hayley James.
Services will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lewes Presbyterian Church, lewespresbyterianchurch.org/give.
