Nanticoke arts and storytelling program set May 17

May 10, 2024

Milton Arts Guild will host a presentation by Nanticoke Tribe representatives on how arts are reflected through the textiles and storytelling of the native culture.

Part of Milton Arts Guild’s MAG Talks series, the program will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, May 17, at the Milton CHEER Center, 24855 Broadkill Road, Milton.

A history of the Nanticokes in Sussex County will begin the evening, with members of the Nanticoke Tribe dressed in native regalia explaining the significance of ribbon skirts and other pieces of clothing. Storyteller Ragghi Rain will present narratives that shed more light on the richness of the Nanticoke culture.
