Nassau Valley Vineyards kicks off 25th Anniversary celebration Oct. 5

New Abraxas label release Friday, farmers market Sunday
October 3, 2018

It is official – Nassau Valley Vineyards turns 25 this weekend! The first winery in Delaware and on the Delmarva Peninsula, Nassau Valley Vineyards blazed the trail for all the craft beverage producers that now call Delaware home. To kick off the yearlong celebration, the winery will release a brand-new label by Lewes artist Abraxas that depicts a beautiful still life of a peach, perfect for Nassau Valley's Peach Ambrosia wine.

Peach Ambrosia is a beautifully crafted fruit wine made 100 percent from fermented peaches with no grape juice or flavor extracts. The release of the new label is just in time to be ahead of the holiday season. Peach Ambrosia is a delightful, medium-sweet dessert wine that begs to accompany anything with cinnamon, nutmeg or ginger. It’s the perfect match for pumpkin pies, spice cake, rum cake and other holiday treats.

Nassau Valley will release the new label Friday, Oct. 5. The final Nassau Valley Farmers Market of the season will be held from noon to 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 7. The winery will feature anniversary eve wine specials all day Sunday. The market features local produce and artisanal craft vendors, on-premise food vendors, live music and a Sangria Bar. A new art show by local photographer Deny Howeth will be on exhibit in the Gallery Space. Tastings of award-winning NVV wines are available every day. The Nassau Valley Vineyards family invites everyone to come enjoy the festivities.

The winery is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Last call for wine tastings is 4:30 p.m. For more information, call 302-645-9463. The winery is located at 32165 Winery Way, Lewes.
