Nationally recognized tango instructor to teach in Lewes through August
Tango Lewes, a group of Argentine Tango enthusiasts, announced that Jay Abling and his dance partner Rachel Moon will be coming to the area to offer a series of workshops at beginner and intermediate levels. Besides teaching Argentine Tango, Abling is a sought-after DJ who will also be playing for Sunday Practicas at the Rodney Hotel. He will feature an impressive selection of traditional Argentine tango music and will challenge his students to try various techniques learned in his classes.
Tango Lewes is a diverse, social dance community dedicated to teaching the dance they love by offering classes, sponsoring milongas and practicas and presenting workshops from guest instructors. Abling recently relocated from San Diego, Calif., to Annapolis, Md., to be the teacher in residence for Annapolis Tango Community and will make regular visits to Lewes to assist in the growth of the community here.
Abling has taught at major festivals and cities including San Diego; San Francisco; Albuquerque, N.M.; Tucson, Ariz.; Ann Arbor, Mich.; Maui, Hawaii; Portland, Ore.; Denver; Los Angeles; Washington, D.C.; New York Cit; and Honolulu. His presence in Lewes in July and August presents a unique opportunity for local students to learn from the best.
