Neurologist to speak to Parkinson education and support group Feb. 6

Justin P. Martello, MD, will speak to the The Sussex County Parkinson Education and Support Group at their meeting 2 to 3:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 6, at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Rehoboth Beach. Martello is a board-certified neurologist specializing in movement disorders and Parkinson's Disease at Christiana Care Health System.

Topics to be covered include orthostatic hypotension, constipation, effective diet, nutrition strategies and treatment options for hallucinations, depression, cognitive changes and more. He will provide easy-to-understand guidance on the right medicines and doses to control tremors, stiffness and slowness.

Martello earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. He completed his neurology residency as well as his fellowship in movement disorders at University of Maryland Medical Center after earning his bachelor's degree with honors in biology from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., where he was a research team member at Johns Hopkins/Kennedy Krieger Institute. He received his board certification in neurology in 2015.
