New Covenant Presbyterian cuts ribbon on annex
New Covenant Presbyterian Church in Lewes cut the ribbon on its new annex and hung a plaque dedicating the conference room in memory of the late Building Committee Chairman Bill Vernon.
Vernon, former president of the Rehoboth Beach Chamber of Commerce, who also served in the Delaware House of Representatives from 1977-81, passed away March 10, 2014.
Vernon was very proud of his years as chairman of new Covenant Presbyterian Church's committee, and his leadership helped to incorporate features of the building to promote the church's expansion.
Vernon requested that, at his death, instead of flowers, donations would be made for the building fund. These funds paid for the majority of the expense of the annex. The new annex houses offices, classrooms and a conference room.
