The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control’s Division of Fish & Wildlife announced two new specialty sport fishing motor vehicle license plates are now available from the Division of Motor Vehicles for motorists to display their passion and support for sport fishing in Delaware.
Proceeds from the sale of the plates will be used by the division to enhance recreational saltwater and freshwater fishing opportunities in Delaware.
The saltwater license plate features a striped bass, and the freshwater plate depicts a largemouth bass, with each displaying the artwork of renowned fish artist Duane Raver. The plates were designed collaboratively by the Division of Motor Vehicles, Division of Fish & Wildlife, and Council on Recreational Fishing Funding, with the council having promoted development of the new plates.
The plates’ cost is a one-time fee of $95, $80 of which will go toward enhancing recreational fishing in Delaware. Both plates are permitted for use on private passenger vehicles, or trucks with a 3/4-ton or smaller manufacturer's rated capacity.
Title 21, Sec. 2140B was signed into law in July 2018, and production design of the plate began after that. The tags are now available at DMV locations across the state for all fishing enthusiasts.
For more information on the tags, go to www.dmv.de.gov or call 302-744-2500.
