Delaware Department of Transportation officials will activate a new traffic signal at the Freeman Highway-Monroe Avenue intersection in Lewes Aug. 3, at night. It will be put on an initial flashing sequence and will go to full stop-and-go Monday, Aug. 7.
The signal is being added to provide a safer road crossing for cyclists and pedestrians, and to accommodate more anticipated traffic from the Olde Town at Lewes development currently under construction near White’s Pond.
