Traffic alert for Rehoboth Parade Dec. 4
Rehoboth Beach Christmas Parade is 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 4. Silver Lake Bridge is still closed for construction. Line up area for parade entries is on State Road. There will be congestion and detours in the area. Parade officials encourage parade watchers and others coming from the south to cross the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal bridge on Route 1, and enter town from Church Street, which leads to Rehoboth Avenue. The parade is followed by Cookies with Santa at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center.

Lewes downtown parking group to meet Dec. 4
The Lewes Business District Parking Committee will meet at 8:30 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 4, at city hall. The group will discuss the type of parking meters to be installed downtown, parking lot redesign for M&T Bank and city lots, metering Kings Highway along Zwaanendael Park, and creating a jitney service from Schley Avenue to Second Street. The committee will also receive more information about changing the traffic pattern of West Third Street and will continue discussion on better signage to promote parking and the possible creation of a parking permit system. Lewes demolition hearing set for Dec. 4
The Lewes Historic Preservation Commission will hold a public hearing at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 4, on a request to demolish an existing dwelling at 203 E. Market St. The dwelling is in the historic district, but is not considered a contributing structure. The commission will likely make a decision on the application at its monthly meeting to be held immediately following the hearing. For more information, call city hall at 302-645-7777.

Rehoboth Boardwalk committee to meet Dec. 5
The Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk, Convention Hall and Special Events Committee has scheduled a meeting for 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 5, in the commissioners room of city hall, 229 Rehoboth Ave. The agenda calls for a consideration of change in wedding and convention center fees, a potential budget for an office of tourism in the city and the replacement of Commissioner Kathy McGuiness. Special Rehoboth meeting set Dec. 7
Mayor Paul Kuhns has called a special meeting for 9 a.m., Friday, Dec. 7, to discuss possible replacements for State Auditor-elect Kathy McGuiness. The agenda also calls for a continued discussion on parking recommendations for next summer and the appointment of a chair and members to the personnel committee. Henlopen Acres meeting set Dec. 7
The Henlopen Acres Board of Commissioners has scheduled a meeting for 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 7, in town hall, 104 Tidewaters. For more information call 302-2276411.

Dewey commissioners to meet Dec. 8
Dewey Beach commissioners will hold a public hearing and monthly town meeting at 9 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 8 at the Lifesaving Station, 1 Dagsworthy Ave. A public hearing and possible vote will be held on an ordinance to approve amending an existing conditional- use permit at Mama Maria’s. Commissioners will review the current fiscal year budget, discuss current status of charter and code review and discuss off-street and residential parking requirements. Commissioners will discuss and possibly vote on town committee members, and focus and objectives of committees.
