Environment group to meet in Rehoboth

The Rehoboth Beach Environment Committee will meet virtually at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 3, with an anchor location at city hall, 229 Rehoboth Ave. The agenda calls for an update on table placards, continued discussion on a sustainable climate action plan and a discussion on offshore wind farms.

Lewes source water hearing slated Dec. 6

Lewes Mayor and City Council will hold a public hearing at 6 p.m., Monday, Dec. 6, at the Rollins Center and via Zoom regarding proposed amendments to the source water protection ordinance. A copy of the ordinance and a link to the meeting can be found on the agenda at lewes.civicweb.net

Rehoboth workshop planned for Dec. 6

Rehoboth Beach commissioners have scheduled a workshop for 9 a.m., Monday, Dec. 6. The agenda calls for continued discussion on changes to the fees for trash and recycling, and the county’s proposal to tap into the city’s ocean outfall. The agenda also calls for a discussion about creating a Stormwater Utility Task Force.

Rehoboth resumes CDP discussion Dec. 6

The Rehoboth Beach Planning Commission has scheduled a special meeting for 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 6, to discuss the 2021 Comprehensive Development Plan. This is the second meeting with the city’s new consultant who was hired in September. The city has been working on the CDP since December 2018. The document was supposed to be completed by July 2020, but the city has received two one-year extensions. The state’s third and final completion deadline is July 2022.

Special Rehoboth meeting set Dec. 7

Rehoboth Beach commissioners have scheduled a special meeting for 9 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 7. The agenda calls for a formal presentation on the results of the Wilmington/Baltimore Avenue Streetscape project. City officials and a special task force have been working on this project for months.

Land-use map on Sussex Dec. 7 agenda

Sussex County Council will meet at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 7, in the county administration building, 2 The Circle, Georgetown. Included on the agenda is a presentation on county council redistricting by county attorney J. Everett Moore. Also included is a 1:30 p.m. public hearing on a proposed amendment to the future land-use map designation from low-density to coastal growth area for a 247-acre parcel east of Route 1 at the Cave Neck Road intersection north of Lewes. DART plans virtual workshops on Dec. 8

Delaware Transit Corporation will host two virtual public hearing workshops to gain input on proposed changes to DART statewide bus services to become effective March 20, 2022. The workshops are scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. and 6 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 8. The link to the virtual workshops, proposal summary, schedules and maps are available at DartFirstState.com. The materials are also available at the Lewes Transit Center and Georgetown Public Library.

14th RD Del Dems to meet Dec. 8

The 14th RD Delaware Democratic Party Committee will meet via Zoom at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 8, for a short business session so it can participate in the state party's How Well Do You Know Joe trivia fundraiser at 6:30 p.m. Any registered Democrat may join the committee meeting or the trivia game; there is no charge for participating in the committee meeting. Those interested may join the 14th RD Trivia team at no charge, or field their own trivia team for a small donation to the Delaware Democratic Party Committee.
