Lewes code of conduct committee meets March 1
The Lewes Ad Hoc Committee for the Review of the Code of Conduct will meet at 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, at city hall and via Zoom. The group will continue discussion of amendments to the city’s code of conduct.

Dewey budget meeting set March 4
Dewey Beach commissioners will hold a special virtual meeting at 4 p.m., Friday, March 4, to review, discuss and possibly vote to approve the proposed fiscal year 2023 draft budget.

Sussex council awards grants to nonprofits
Sussex County Council awarded the following councilmanic grants during its Feb. 22 meeting: $750 to ReTemp Development Center for its food outreach program; $2,250 to Woodbridge High School Marine Corps JROTC Booster Club for a 5K run and walk; and $1,500 to Lewes Fire Department for a golf tournament fundraiser.
Historic preservation to meet in Lewes
The Lewes Historic Preservation Architectural Review Commission will meet at 6 p.m., Thursday, March 3, at city hall and via Zoom. The meeting will open with a public hearing on a request to demolish an existing garage to allow for the construction of a new accessory structure at 324 Savannah Road, a contributing property. A vote on the request may follow. Also on the agenda are a request to renovate an existing garage at 372 Pilottown Road, a request by Lewes Oyster House for renovations to the facade at 108 Second St., and a request for the construction of a deck and outdoor shower with a roof off the rear of the property at 406 Kings Hwy. Commissioners will also consider a request from Old Wood at Forge LLC to amend an approval on the existing building at 114 W. Third St. The request is to allow 30 inches of brick to be located at the bottom of the facade and the removal of existing grills in the windows. The city’s proposed ordinance for museums and outdoor exhibitions will also be discussed under the new business portion of the meeting. Lewes rec group to meet March 2
The Lewes Recreational Activities Subcommittee will meet at 5 p.m., Wednesday, March 2, at the Rollins Community Center and via Zoom. The group will discuss the city’s recreational activities permit policy. A link to the meeting can be found on the agenda at lewes.civicweb.net.
Lewes Mitigation Team meets March 2
The Lewes Mitigation Planning Team will meet at 9 a.m., Wednesday, March 2, at city hall and via Zoom. The group will receive a report from consultant Tony Pratt regarding a presentation in Bethany Beach by Sen. Tom Carper and Gov. John Carney. The committee will also review a report from the city’s executive committee on resiliency.
