Rehoboth Grand back before planning commission May 14

The Rehoboth Beach Planning Commission has scheduled an online meeting for 1:30 p.m., Friday, May 14.

The agenda calls for a discussion and possible recommendation to city commissioners regarding the proposed rezoning of a parcel at 330 Rehoboth Ave. This is the site of the proposed Rehoboth Grand, which was first introduced in January 2019. At the time, plans called for four stories, 90 rooms, an indoor pool, 44 ground-level parking spaces, 48 underground parking spaces, and retail and spa space. As proposed, the height would be slightly over 41 feet. The property is split-zoned – 23,067 square feet of C-1 commercial along Rehoboth Avenue and 19,425 square feet of R-1 residential along State Road. The State Road portion of the property, currently a parking lot, would have to be rezoned for the hotel plan to move ahead.

People wishing to speak must preregister by emailing City Secretary Ann Womack, awomack@cityofrehoboth.com, at least 24 hours prior to the meeting. A full agenda and meeting materials are accessible at cityofrehoboth.civicweb.net. For more information, call 302-227-6181.
