Sussex P&Z meeting set June 26

Sussex County Planning & Zoning Commission will meet Wednesday, June 26, in the county administration building, 2 The Circle, Georgetown. Included on the agenda are several public hearings including a conditional-use request filed by Beachfire Brewing Co. LLC for a food truck to operate more than three days at 19840 Central Ave., Rehoboth Beach, and a conditional-use request filed by Over The Hill Holdings LLC for an indoor and outdoor shooting/archery range at 38531 Parker Road, Millsboro. The commission will also hear an appeal from the developer of Welches Pond, off Cedar Grove Road near Lewes, to amend the conditions of approval.

Sussex P&Z plans hearings on Northstar

Sussex County Planning & Zoning Commission will hold public hearings for the proposed Northstar mixed-use community at 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 17.

The development will be located on a 433-acre parcel between Route 9 and both sides of Beaver Dam Road west of Lewes about 2 miles from Route 1, and the preliminary plan includes 758 single-family home lots, 94 multifamily units and 96,000 square feet of commercial space along Route 9.

Hearings will take place on four applications: a cluster subdivision; a rezone from AR-1, agricultural residential, to C-3, heavy commercial on a 13-acre site; a rezone from AR-1 to MR, medium-density residential on an 8-acre site; and a conditional use for multifamily housing on an 8-acre site.

The plan includes 96 affordable units under the Delaware State Housing Authority low-income tax credit program.

Blue Zone on Sussex council agenda

Sussex County Council will meet at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 25, in the county administration building, 2 The Circle, Georgetown. Included on the agenda are votes on two amended ordinances, perimeter buffers and accessory dwelling units. Also on the agenda is a presentation on the Blue Zone project, a nationwide initiative to create a plan to improve well-being and quality of life.

Lewes BPW to meet June 26

The Lewes Board of Public Works will meet at 4 p.m., Wednesday, June 26, at city hall.

The Lewes Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 25, at city hall.
