No election in Dewey Beach

For the fifth year in a row, Dewey Beach will not hold a municipal election, as only three candidates — all incumbents — filed to run for an equal number of commissioners’ seats.

Since commissioners Elisabeth Gibbings, David Jasinski and Paul Bauer all ran unopposed, they have been automatically re-elected to their next terms.

Each term is two years long.

Despite there being no election, the Dewey Beach Civic League still held its candidates’ forum Aug. 23, drawing a large turnout.
