Dogfish requests preliminary review

The Milton Planning & Zoning Commission will consider a request by Dogfish Properties LLC to approve the preliminary site plans of two projects in its ongoing expansion. A public hearing will be held at the meeting prior to any vote by the commission.

Dogfish is planning to build a 26,661-square-foot addition to the existing facility and a 9,994-square-foot wastewater building.

Marylanders for Marriage Equality meet

Marylands for Marriage Equality will gather from 5 to 7 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 25, at The Cottage Club, 158 Henlopen Ave., Rehoboth Beach.  The host committee includes Bea Birman and Mary Malgoire, Lisa Evans and Joann Gusdanovic, Brian Cox and Konrad Noebel, Wanda Bair and Bonnie Kirkland, Chris DiPietro and Tom Burkhart, as well as Mitch Crane, past president of the Delaware Stonewall Democrats. Guest speakers include Maryland state Sen. Richard Madaleno, Delegate Maggie McIntosh and Delegate Heather Mizeur.

Heritage Creek public hearing set Aug. 23

Milton Town Council will hold a public hearing on a request to change the record plan of Phase 2B in Heritage Creek at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 23, at Milton Public Library. Officials are expected to vote on the issue following the hearing.

Council will also hear a final report from Pennoni Associates regarding its review of the town's water system. Pennoni engineer Steve McCabe also presented his report and recommendations to the water committee last month.

Officials will also discuss a waiver request from Dogfish Properties LLC to install a new well to replace an existing well and a proposal to allow down zoning of light industrial and commercial properties to residential to reflect a property's actual use.

School board meets Aug. 23 at Mariner

Cape school board will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, in the Mariner Middle School cafeteria. The board will hear a tuition program update and discuss the fiscal year 2013 preliminary budget.
