State retirees, take note: the budget approved by the Joint Finance Committee has no increases or pay supplements for retirees, even though there are increases for current employees and especially teachers. With the high inflation the country has been experiencing in the last couple of years, our legislators don’t think we, who spent our lives toiling for the good of the state, deserve a little more to help with the cost of living! Write or call your legislators now because the budget will be passed soon.
This does make me feel like it’s some form of retaliation for retirees who don’t want the lesser medical plan they’ve been trying to shove down our throats for a while now.
