For more than 25 years, CHEER has been sponsoring Operation Christmas CHEER to provide a nutritious meal plus a gift for each senior client on Christmas Day.
This year, volunteers served nearly 250 seniors. At one time, vehicles were lined up out to Bedford Street in front of the Adams State Service Center in Georgetown as Operation Christmas CHEER volunteers waited to have their vehicles loaded curbside. By 11 a.m. Dec. 25, all gifts and meals had been picked up and were on the way to homebound seniors in Sussex County.
