Orchid seminar set at East Coast Garden Center Jan. 31
An orchid seminar by Beth Davis of Waldor Orchids is set for 1 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 31, at East Coast Garden Center. For those who want to grow orchids or who have already taken the plunge and are enjoying their beauty, the workshop will provide all the tricks for great orchid cultivation. She will tell how orchids are unusual and exotic, but relatively easy to grow. Davis will present basic culture information as well as a hands-on potting demonstration. She will have plants to demonstrate with as well as plants for sale.
Davis is a third-generation orchid grower from Waldor Orchids in Linwood, N.J. Waldor is a family-owned business and has been since 1925. She has worked at the greenhouses for over 20 years doing many different jobs. Now a stay-at-home mom with four children, she does many speaking engagements to stay involved with the family business. She chaired the Ocean City, Md. flower show for four years and has worked with the International Amphibian Days Organization in Baltimore.
