Our Trial Guy provides consulting services in Delaware and nationwide

October 17, 2016

Local woman-owned business C7 Communications announced that it began operations of Our Trial Guy in May, expanding their nonprofit and small business communications consulting offerings to include trial consulting for law firms and their clients. Owner Sally Cole says, "It is a logical extension of C7 in that Our Trial Guy will provide communications consulting for trials, which are typically very limited in duration, with a need to provide a very focused message - the only difference being that we are communicating to jurors rather than customers or donors.”

Cole says,“Our Trial Guy is off to an exciting start, most recently with a favorable verdict on behalf of the iconic American company Tiffany and Co. against Costco Wholesale Corp., in which Costco was found guilty of trademark infringement and counterfeiting, as well as violating New York’s unfair competition laws. Our Trial Guy provided consulting services to the law firm Browne George Ross LLP, resulting in a jury verdict including actual, statutory and punitive damages totaling $13.75 million.”

Prior to this case, Our Trial Guy had already provided consulting services on four other matters since first incorporating in late May, including to the firm Blank Rome LLP, representing Dominion Resources in a significant patent trial against Alstom Grid regarding next-generation smart power grid technology. That case ended with a favorable jury verdict of almost half a million dollars, as well as a preliminary injunction ruling pending with the court.

Cole first provided litigation services in 1993 as part of Dickstein Shaprio and Morin, most notably In re Amino Acid Lysine Antitrust Litigation, the civil side of United States versus Archer Daniels Midland Co., which was the basis of the movie “The Informant!” starring Matt Damon. She also provided support In re Vitamins Antitrust Litigation, a case that would result in the largest settlement of its type in antitrust history.

While Our Trial Guy will provide trial consulting nationwide, Cole sees a particular opportunity in Delaware, which is home to over a million corporations including more than 50 percent of all publicly traded companies in the United States and 64 percent of the Fortune 500, in part due to its Chancery Court, which is widely regarded as the most sophisticated business court in the world. In addition, the U.S. District Court in Wilmington has among the largest number of patent and pharmaceutical cases filed anywhere in the country.

All Our Trial Guy consultants have a minimum of 10 years of experience in litigation support, having consulted on not only jury and bench trials, but also arbitrations, mediations, pretrial summary judgment motions, Markman hearings, mock trials, jury focus groups and other similar proceedings. They have provided these consulting services to AmLaw 100 law firms and their clients, including many of the largest corporations in the world, to help secure billions of dollars in favorable judgements.

Sally Cole lives in Lewes with her husband Derek Cole and their five children. Our Trial Guy is the only Delaware-based trial technology and graphics consulting company. For more information, call 202-250-0336.
