OutKast wins sixth flag football title

December 17, 2013

OutKast outlasted Sportz Tees by a 20-12 margin Dec. 15 on a muddy field in Lewes to win the Sussex Family YMCA Flag Football Fall League championship for the sixth time, including fall and spring seasons.

Rob Moore, the ageless quarterback, threw second-half touchdowns to James Overstreet and Cordae Showell to ice the victory.

Scotty Kirkpatrick kicked a 40-yard first-half field goal for Sportz Tees, and Ky Adams busted loose on a breakaway early in the second half to account for the Sportz Tees' scoring.

Leroy Mann III scored a first-half touchdown for OutKast, and Rudy Thomas caught a two-point conversion in the second half.

OutKast's major offensive threat was Johnathan Ricketts running behind blocker Wade Jones. That tandem is the absolute truth.

OutKast also had three interceptions, one each by Ricketts, Cordae Showell and Marcus Elmendorf.

The Y is now accepting applications from teams wishing to play the spring season. Games are on Sundays.
