Overfalls Rock the Boat gala tickets now on sale

The Overfalls Foundation will host Rock the Boat, a gala fundraiser, from 6 to 9 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 9, at Baywood Greens Ballroom. Tickets are available at Overfallsgala22.eventbrite.com.

Guests will enjoy live music and dancing to the upbeat tunes of the popular band Hot Sauce, heavy hors d'oeuvres, cake and a cash bar. A live auction will offer exciting items and experiences such as a night for two at the Hard Rock in Atlantic City that includes dinner, accommodations and a show.

The Lightship Overfalls (LV118) is the only National Historic Landmark in Sussex County and the only maritime landmark in Delaware.

The ship sits grandly at the edge of Lewes Canalfront Park, welcoming young and old to explore its wonders and learn about this important piece of maritime history. The American Lightship Museum displays maritime artifacts from the lightship era.

With the lightship as its centerpiece, the Overfalls Foundation collects, preserves, honors and teaches the maritime history of Lewes, the Delaware Bay and the coastal region.

The Overfalls Foundation is an all-volunteer organization. Funds raised support preservation and maintenance of this important landmark ship along with local scholarships, educational programs for children and adults, and preservation of maritime history through the ship and its artifacts.
