Panetta a refreshing choice for BPW

May 11, 2018

As a homeowner in Lewes, I'm writing to endorse the candidacy of Thomas Panetta, who's running for a seat on the Lewes BPW. I've owned my home for 17 years, and became acquainted with Tom when he became a full-time resident here 10 years ago.

Not only is Tom smart, capable and interested in this community, he's a watchdog for whatever is going on as it relates to community matters. Tom is my "go-to" voice for what's happening around town. It's always been this way even when he had no formal obligation to keep himself apprised about local current events.

His impressive professional background offers Lewes the biggest "bang for its buck" by having Tom represent our future needs. He spent his career as an engineer building power plants. This entailed managing the design and scope of complex projects often fraught with countervailing opinions about where and whether they should be developed.

I was thrilled to learn that Tom offered to make a personal commitment to represent the citizens of Lewes by running for this seat. I can assure you of his passion for conceiving the best choices for the future developments of this community. Furthermore, his professional background, technical expertise and negotiating skills will enable him to seek the most appropriate options for implementing those choices.

My fellow citizens, despite recognition of the value of the individuals who have held incumbencies on the BPW, it would be refreshing to bring in new voices of competency. If our community is going to thrive and effectively grow with all the anticipated demands of progress, we need a keen eye on the big picture. Tom Panetta can bring laser-eyed focus to complex issues and present the board with a myriad of solutions from which to consider before moving forward.

I urge you to please cast your vote for Tom Panetta for a seat on the BPW. Tom's participation would offer Lewes its breadth of choices for which direction it needs to take to as we face the crossroads of our future.
