Papa Grande's Rehoboth open seven days a week all winter
Papa Grande’s Coastal Taqueria in downtown Rehoboth Beach, which opened in May 2014, had a blockbuster summer season that’s spilled into fall. The restaurant has received such a warm welcome that it’s remaining open seven days a week during the off-season. Hours are 4 to 10 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and 4 to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday.
“Opening a second Papa Grande's in Rehoboth has been a great move for our company. We thought that downtown Rehoboth would be a great spot to have a restaurant similar to the flagship Papa Grande’s located in Fenwick Island, and after a lot of discussion with our managers and our corporate chef, Doug Ruley, we decided to open a second Papa Grande’s” said Scott Kammerer, president of SoDel Concepts, which owns eight restaurants along the Delaware coast. “Replicating one of our restaurants was a new experience for us, and the response has been fantastic.”
Ruley said the Rehoboth menu for the most part offers the same selections as the Fenwick site, which takes its inspiration from Latin cuisine and Mexican street fare. Ruley worked with chefs at the Texas campus of the Culinary Institute of America to come up with ideas. He also incorporated local seafood in dishes such as hangover shrimp cocktail, and crab and avocado mariscos with sriracha crema.
The restaurant also features a discerning selection of tequilas, including Patron, Don Julio and Cuervo Riserva de la Familia.
“We’re looking forward to serving a little spice and heat to our customers this winter,” Ruley said. “We want to give locals and off-season visitors yet another dining option in Rehoboth.”
