The Parker Group’s Shindig for Shelter event, held Nov. 17 at the Milton Theatre, raised more than $5,000 for local charities.
As temperatures drop, the need for warm and affordable housing becomes ever more dire. The Parker Group, a local real estate brokerage, hosted the event to support local charities that work to help those in need of housing.
"We were so thrilled to see so many people come out to support their neighbors tonight,” said Dustin Parker. "It is wonderful to live in a community that works to lift one another up."
The event benefited three local charities: Sussex County Habitat for Humanity, Code Purple, and Home of the Brave. Each focuses on a different area of need in the local housing market. The Parker Group was able to donate $5,391 in event proceeds to help end homelessness on Delmarva. Each charity was presented with a check for $1,797 to help in their important work.
The Parker Group is an independent local real estate company that focuses on giving back to the community.
