Speaking from experience, long time realtor Carol Succarotte Daniels said she’s offering a hands-on style of real estate service in the Cape Region.

It can be intimidating for home buyers to deal with the mega teams associated with some of the area’s larger real estate firms, she said.

The buyer thinks they’re getting the person in the front on the billboard, but then they end up getting one of their associates, and that can be disheartening, said Daniels, who has 25 years of experience in the field, most recently with industry giant RE/MAX.

Looking to fill the need for a boutique-style real estate company, Daniels has teamed up with veteran New Castle County realtors Partners Realty LLC.

“There’s a definite need for something like this in Sussex County,” said Daniels from the company’s new Lewes office at 17527 Nassau Commons Blvd. Daniels will be an associate broker for the company and team leader for the Lewes office.

Linda Miller, Partners Realty majority owner and CEO, said she and Daniels went to high school together, and when she was approached by Daniels about opening a branch in Lewes, she said she agreed it was a good idea.

The company has a strong following in northern Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania, but, said Miller, they really wanted to be in Sussex County too.

“That means you have to have a presence,” said Miller, who has 25 years of experience in the mortgage industry, but now runs the company’s day-to-day operations. “This really allows us to service the whole state without that huge team.”

Miller said Partners Realty’s boutique model will allow the company to be more hands-on during the buying process, from start to finish. It’s like going to the local hardware store compared to a big box store, she said.

“It’s an advantage to have our hands-on personal service,” Miller said.

Richard Marcus, managing partner for Partners Realty and broker of record for the Lewes office, specializes in foreclosures. He said he’s been working with type of real estate for the past seven years, and in the past couple of years, the company has settled $35 million worth of the government-owned properties.

Marcus, who has 39 years of experience, said he’s looking forward to adding Sussex County properties to his list. It’s rewarding to settle on foreclosures because it returns money back to the federal government, he said, adding this type of work helps abandoned properties and has potential to rebuild communities.
