Patricia A. Bedell, DART supervisor

Patricia A. “Trish” “Tricia” Bedell, 60, of Georgetown, passed away peacefully Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017, at Christiana Hospital in Newark under the care of Seasons Hospice.

Trish was born in Jonesport, Maine, daughter of the late Milton R. Perry Jr., and Winona (Seavey) (Perry) Simmons.

Trish resided in Georgetown for many years and worked as a DART supervisor with the state of Delaware. She was a people person who loved to talk and never met a stranger. Trish was a member of the Ellendale Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary for 42 years. Her love of cooking and entertaining was well-known throughout the community as she managed the fire department kitchen and cooked for numerous fire company dinners and events.

Although she had no children of her own, she adored her nieces, nephews and extended family.

Tricia is survived by five siblings, Rebecca Perry, Joan Burns (Tom), Roderick Perry, Phyllis Walton (Kenny), and Susan Collins (Preston); five nieces and nephews, Sophie Dean, Cameron Perry, G.K. Walton, Faye Hudson and Christine Stevenson; as well as several great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews.

A Celebration of her Life will be held Sunday, Nov. 5, at 3 p.m., at the Ellendale Volunteer Fire Company, 302 Main St., Ellendale.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory can be made to Brain Injury Association of Delaware, P.O. Box 1897, Dover, DE 19904.
