Pauline Wampler Shortridge, retired loan officer

A memorial service for Pauline Wampler Shortridge, 88, of Millsboro, formerly of Manassas, Va., will be held Saturday, July 21, at 11 a.m., at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher St., Frankford.

She passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018, after a brief illness at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford.

She was born July 30, 1929, in Buchanan County, Va. She retired from Piedmont Federal Savings Bank as a senior loan officer, and previously worked for Birmingham Dairy.

Pauline enjoyed cooking, baking, feeding others, walking, attending church, knitting, crocheting, cardinals, and spending time with her friends and loving family. She attended Grace United Methodist Church in Millsboro, and previously attended Manassas Church of Christ for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Ervine Cecil Shortridge in 2014; her parents, Floyd and Rose Wampler, in 1979 and 1999; a sister, June Bernice Deel, in 1957; and a grandson, Carlton Cecil Shortridge, in 1979.

She is survived by a son, C.J. Shortridge and wife Denise of Dagsboro.; a daughter, Sharon Wiltz Oliverson, of Goshen, Ind.; grandchildren Dan Shortridge and wife Rachel Kipp, Tom Shortridge and wife Anna Bowers, Lisa Herschberger and husband Dave, and Lori Richards and husband Rob; and great-grandchildren Hadassah Rose, Katie, Jeff, Alicia and Bryan; sister Shery Bennett and husband Stem of Rocky Mount, Va.; brother Floyd Edmound Wampler and wife Phyllis of Rock Hill, S.C.; nieces Ashley Rose Bennett Amos and Alisha Ann Bennett; and numerous siblings-in-law and other relatives.

Internment was at Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas.
