I agree 100% with the July 11 editorial titled “DelDOT must find solutions.”
Furthermore, the Tower Hill development should be made to stop building homes until the Canary Creek bridge is rebuilt and safe to travel over in clear weather and storms. Furthermore, the new Black Oak development should not be allowed to build one house on New Road until the Canary Creek bridge is safe.
There are three ways out of Lewes – Kings Highway, Savannah Road and New Road. New Road has to be closed when the area has storms or high tides that wash over the bridge. In the summer, it takes a half-hour to get from Cedar Avenue over the canal drawbridge with New Road available. What happens if New Road is closed due to high water?
DelDOT is playing with people’s lives. Fix the problem now!
