Paving of Shuttle Road near Rehoboth set to begin Aug. 5
A repaving project for Shuttle Road outside Rehoboth Beach is set to begin Monday, Aug. 5. Message boards announcing the road work appeared on Route 1 recently.
C.R. McLeod, Delaware Department of Transportation spokesperson, said the message boards are announcing a repaving project for Shuttle Road from Country Club Road to the intersection of Route 1. The work is expected to be completed in early October, he said.
The message board is being moved from Route 1, as there will not be any traffic impacts there, said McLeod.
This paving work is part of a larger paving contract for DelDOT that also includes the repaving of Rehoboth Avenue; Country Club Road from West Side Drive to Shuttle Road; Bay Vista Road from First Street to Route 1; Shuttle Road from Country Club Road to Route 1; and Old Bay Road from Ann Avenue to Route 1.
The Rehoboth Avenue portion of the project was supposed to take place over the course of last fall and spring, but for various reasons it didn’t.
