Peninsula Golf & Country Club promotes two food and beverage team members

The Peninsula Golf & Country Club, a Troon-managed private club in Millsboro, has announced two recent promotions in its food and beverage department.

Carol Griffin was named assistant director of food and beverage, and Bethany Ackerman was promoted to catering and golf event sales manager.

Griffin has been with The Peninsula in various positions since 2006 and was most recently manager of The Clubhouse restaurant. She has been instrumental in developing policies and procedures for the entire food and beverage department. Griffin also has been the driving force behind the wine club, which promotes the enjoyment and appreciation of wines through events such as wine dinners, tastings, and educational events. She is currently working on her sommelier’s certification.

Ackerman joined The Peninsula team in February 2018 as club coordinator. In her new position, she will focus on providing personalized service to all members and organizations hosting events this exclusive venue. Ackerman will be responsible for facilitating member events ranging from baby showers, kids’ birthday parties and weddings to working with local organizations as they host charity events and golf tournaments. Ackerman holds a bachelor of science degree in public relations from West Virginia University and is currently working on a master of science degree in integrated marketing communication.

2019 was a record year for the Peninsula Golf & Country Club’s food and beverage team with expanded and innovative services offered to all club members. These two promotions truly recognize the talent, professionalism and leadership of both Griffin and Ackerman as they move forward with an amazing schedule of events for 2020 fueled in part by their special brand of innovation, dedication and creativity.
