Petco Foundation donates $90K to Brandywine Valley SPCA

February 23, 2020

In celebration of Valentine’s Day, the staff at Brandywine Valley SPCA was surprised with the announcement of a grant investment in the amount of $90,000 from the Petco Foundation, providing crucial funding to help local pets in need.

As part of Petco’s annual process to find and support the most effective lifesaving animal welfare organizations nationwide, this local grant was part of $10 million in grant investments that the Petco Foundation committed to animal welfare organizations across the country. The shelter pets and the people who save them at these organizations will also receive thousands of valentine messages of gratitude for their lifesaving work from pet adopters both locally and across the nation.

At select animal shelter locations, the Petco Foundation, in partnership with BOBS from Skechers and MUTTS, will deliver a Valentine’s celebration of thanks and love to the organization’s staff and volunteers, along with a special gift of BOBS from Skechers shoes for hardworking staff.

The Brandywine Valley SPCA is one of the few remaining shelters providing safe haven for lost and stray animals, delivering this service across Delaware, and for Chester and Delaware counties in Pennsylvania. As the first open-admission, no-kill shelter in these two states, the BVSPCA cares for more than 13,000 animals each year and shows a 96 percent live release rate.
