Philip Peter Misosky, skilled carpenter

December 2, 2021

Philip Peter "Pete" Misosky, 75, of Rehoboth Beach, and formerly of Johnstown, Pa., passed away Friday, Nov. 26, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born Feb. 4, 1946, in Windber, Pa., son of the late Philip and Phyllis Misosky.

Pete was a 1965 graduate of Windber High School. He played football in high school and was a dedicated follower of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a proud veteran, having honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines. He made a career in home renovation sales. Pete was a skilled carpenter, enjoyed listening to his oldies records, was a voracious reader, and enjoyed spending time with his greyhounds. Above all, Pete cherished time spent with those he held most dear. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and friend. Loved by many, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his brother, Ray Misosky. He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Barbara (Parks) Misosky; his children: Jarib Misosky, Dustin Misosky and Sarah Misosky (Bud Morgan Jr.); and his sisters: Cyndi Terek (Thomas Terek) and Patricia Misosky. Pete is also survived by numerous close relatives and devoted friends.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 10, at Henderson's East Hills Funeral Home, 2503 Bedford St., Johnstown. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 11, at St. Benedict's Church, 2310 Bedford St., Johnstown.
