Planned Parenthood of Delaware welcomes new vice president
Planned Parenthood of Delaware has announced April Lyons-Alls as its vice president of external affairs.
A practicing registered nurse of 30 years, she brings a wealth of experience working in the areas of public health, maternal and child health, community mental health, corrections, nonprofit organizations and Medicaid managed care organizations.
She holds a master of science degree in nursing from Thomas Jefferson University with a specialty in community systems administration and a master’s degree in public administration from Delaware State University. Lyons-Alls is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in public administration at Walden University.
Lyons-Alls has extensive experience developing, implementing and managing population health initiatives for women, children and their families across the lifespan. She also has experience in grant writing and program management.
Lyons-Alls was selected to the Centers for Disease Control and Preventions’ Inaugural National Leadership Academy for the Public’s Health.
She now serves on the boards for ChristianaCare Health System and the Delaware Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
The Planned Parenthood of Delaware mission is to promote reproductive health and responsible sexual behavior through the provision of comprehensive, high-quality education, counseling and medical services. PPDE has served Delaware for more than 90 years.
